Pets4Homes is one of the UK’s largest online pet marketplaces and is part of Pet Media Group.

The platform attracts over 4 million monthly users and rehomes more than 1 million pets each year. Pets4Homes reports that approximately one third of all puppies advertised in the UK are listed on the platform.

For this report, Pets4Homes analysed data from 8,121,082 pets rehomed between January 2019 and December 2025, alongside platform traffic and advert engagement data.

Market Activity and Pricing

According to Pets4Homes data, the platform has seen a change in market activity following several years of decline after the Covid-era surge.

The average puppy price on Pets4Homes reached £989 in December 2025. This represents an increase of 18.7% compared to the previous year. 2025 marks the first period of sustained growth in puppy supply on the platform since 2021.

Pets4Homes also reports that 55% of the increase in puppy supply seen during COVID has now been absorbed.

The Miniature Dachshund has risen from 16th place in 2018 to number one. The French Bulldog is no longer the most commonly advertised breed on the platform.

Mixed breeds account for 35% of puppies sold on Pets4Homes, up from 18% in 2014. Pedigree breeds represent 65%, down from 82% a decade ago.

Puppies from licensed breeders listed on the platform average over £1,500. Prices are 52% higher than those from unlicensed breeders.

Breeders with 4+ star reviews receive, on average, 17% higher prices. ID-verified breeders command prices around 23% higher.
